In a deeply disturbing incident at Diva railway station in Thane district, a 39-year-old woman lost her life after being pushed in front of a moving goods train during a quarrel. The horrifying event took place between 5:00 am and 5:30 am on Friday morning on platform number 5-6.

What Happened

According to Thane Railway Police Senior Inspector Archana Dusane, the victim was involved in a heated argument with the accused, identified as Rajan Shivnarayan Singh, a resident of Diva East. During the confrontation, Singh allegedly attempted to molest the woman. When she resisted, he grabbed her by the neck and pushed her in front of an approaching goods train. Tragically, she died on the spot.

Swift Action by Railway Police

As Singh tried to escape the scene, he was chased and successfully apprehended by Railway Police Constable Sagar Shinde. The police’s quick response helped ensure that the accused was taken into custody immediately.

Singh has been arrested for murder and other serious offenses under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), India’s new criminal law code. He has been remanded in five-day police custody as the investigation continues.
